Just in time for Hulda Zwingli's 5th birthday on June 14th, the long-awaited article about this outstanding personality is now being published here.

On social media, she describes herself under the name @huldazwingli as a Zurich native with multiple personalities who will inevitably end up at the stake. Her personally chosen hashtags are as impressive as they are mysterious: #wearehulda #huldaforpresident #huldawho #nastyhulda

Who is Hulda Zwingli?

The name Hulda Zwingli is a pseudonym and under this term brings together an anonymous collective of around a dozen women from the Zurich cultural scene. This was founded on the women's strike day, June 14, 2019.

What is Hulda Zwingli doing?

Hulda Zwingli has made it her mission to examine the unequal gender relations in the art world and in public spaces and to draw attention to them - on social media, with stickers on the go, photos and pin buttons (available in the Kunsthaus Zurich shop! ).

It should no longer be a secret that women* are underrepresented in the cultural sector. And that on all levels. The “Guerrilla Girls” collective already emphasized this lack of visibility for female artists in their work “Do women have to be naked to get into the Met. Museum?”

Gender equality in the arts and culture scene still has a long way to go. The topic is more topical than ever and is being taken up in various media - no longer just in digital form on social media, but also as a focus in (scientific) literature such as the 295th edition of the Kunstforum International with the title "Mutter-schafft " and corresponding exhibitions. This includes the compilation “ReCollect” at the Kunsthaus Zurich. You can also meet Hulda Zwingli there when you visit! In the entertaining exhibition video, curator Mirjam Varadinis talks about why this exhibition is so important. You can watch it here on YouTube.
